How to Submit
All submissions should be uploaded here by clicking the corresponding genre/medium below. Please reach out if you have trouble using Submittable. You can read prior issues and find more info here. And you can follow us on Instagram for updates here.
Submission Guidelines
- All submissions must be the unpublished work of a current UCCS student or a UCCS graduate. Allowing riverrun to publish a piece gives riverrun first North American serial rights; within 30 days of publication, rights revert back to the author.
- Only the author or artist of the work (or their representative) can submit it for publication in riverrun.
- No more than five (5) pieces in any writing genre or arts/performance medium will be accepted from any one (1) contributor. You can submit in multiple genres and media.
- Authors or artists whose work is accepted in riverrun may be offered the option of recording a performance of their work to be published on the riverrun YouTube channel. Should an author or artist accept and pursue this option, riverrun will retain all performance rights for 30 days after publication of the video; after that time, all performance rights revert to the author/artist.
- Questions or comments can be e-mailed to riverrun’s editors at riverrun@uccs.edu.
- PLEASE DON'T INCLUDE YOUR NAME IN THE FILE NAME OR ANYWHERE IN THE DOCUMENT.
Deadline for Submissions is February 10th
We accept submissions year-round, but we only read during February and March (as part of the ENGL 3170 course). The deadline for submissions is always February 1st, but in a pinch we'll extend it by a couple of weeks. We publish once per year during the month of May.
We'll be in touch (but you can reach out any time).
Confirmation of acceptances will be sent out mid Spring semester of the publication year. Please be sure you provide an email address that you check regularly.
