How to Submit
All submissions should be uploaded here by clicking the corresponding genre/medium below. Please reach out if you have trouble using Submittable. You can read prior issues and find more info here. You can follow us on Instagram for updates here.
Submission Guidelines
- All submissions must be the unpublished work of a current UCCS student or a UCCS graduate. Allowing riverrun to publish a piece gives riverrun first North American serial rights; within 30 days of publication, rights revert back to the author.
- Only the author or artist of the work (or their representative) can submit it for publication in riverrun.
- No more than five (5) pieces total in any writing genre or arts/performance medium will be accepted from any one (1) contributor. You can submit in multiple genres and media.
- Authors or artists whose work is accepted in riverrun may be offered the option of recording a performance of their work to be published on the riverrun YouTube channel. Should an author or artist accept and pursue this option, riverrun will retain all performance rights for 30 days after publication of the video; after that time, all performance rights revert to the author/artist.

Poetry Submissions
This is the section to submit your poetry works of any kind. Any poetic work is accepted in this submission box to be reviewed by the riverrun team, regardless of subgenre (i.e. free form, haiku, etc.). If you feel like your work requires a content/trigger warning, please provide one at the top of the attached submission inside the file itself.

Literary Translations Submissions
This is the form to submit works that are translated from another language (i.e. French) to English, or from English to another language. Any forms of work are acceptable to put here, whether poetry, nonfiction or fiction. Excerpts of longer form work are also acceptable. Please leave a note for the riverrun team in the attached submission of what language it was originally translated from if translated into English, or note that it was originally in English if in another language.
